Father Abraham / Had many sons

In case you missed the twitternado earlier tonight (and I understand there are as many as six of you who refuse to use Twitter. That's ok, but you're last one to the Info Buffet), Kelsey and I twittered an announcement that went roughly like this:

@kbohlender - I feel sick....

@rbohlender -
You ok? Symptoms?

@kbohlender -
Sick to my stomach, tired all the time. Ya know, the usual for the condition.

@rbohlender -
That's right folks. @kbohlender has a bun in the oven. this is not a joke.

We found out two days ago that Kelsey is expecting. Yes, it's number 7. Yes, it will mean 4 children under the age of 3. Yes, we know what causes this (although someone told us that if we had a TV, it might not have....).

We are overfreakingjoyed. This is as glorious and in the perfect will of God as any adoption. I have a TON of thoughts around large families and God's plan for the earth. Some will make your head spin, and I hope to blog them soon. Suffice it to say that we're happy. We're laughing maniacally in a way that might suggest we're off our meds, but we're also truly happy.

All things God are good.

Sing it with me now. Father Abraham / Had many sons....many sons had Father Abraham

I am not sure what made this trip more memorable - seeing the changing of the guard at Arlington, praying outside the White House, or finding out the world will be welcoming another Bohlender!!!!

As I used to say while looking at my shoe collection, "You can never have enough." Totally true of children too.

Congratulations!!!!

A HUGE congratulations to you guys! I am so happy in my heart for you all. I've often told Tracie and John that Aaron and I want to get to know you guys, so maybe we'll be able to come help out with all those small kids you'll have! Congrats again!

@annie - i laughed because none of you wondered where Kelsey was...she was rocked out asleep!

@traceylynndel - yes, and 'are you mormon?'

@tracie - NO. And you know stinking well if we have to go that far, it will be in basic black.

@ava's mama - Ann still does that? And you travel with her?

@ann - and like your shoe collection, we have all colors. And some pinch a little.

Congratulations! And just to honor you, the Sherwood family just sang the song and did the dance--"I am one of them, and so are you, so let's just praise the Lord! Right arm! Left arm! Right leg! Left leg! Chin up! Turn around! Sit down!..."

Kelsey has a bun in the oven and Grandma must be baking buns for the angels in your honor! I have always believed she put in a good word for her grandkids to receive the best babies. She has managed to bless you with wonderful children through mother nature and adoption. Is your mom having childhood flashbacks? Congratulations!

You guys are amazing. Do twins run in the family? Just asking. Wouldn't that be heavenly?

Randy,

No I'm not mormon. Just blessed. Not catholic either. But we get that a lot too. As well as "do you know how this happens?" We have two answers for that one 1. "yes lots of paperwork" and 2. "yes and we are good at it" depending on the situation (birth or adoption)
