Rework of the Rework

I have been blogging since the fall of 2002. That's three and a half years of musings, rants, and the occassional good post (because as a friend told me, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while....).

Last night, I decided to go with another template to integrate it with the look of our main website. The template was sort of a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. paint scheme, minus the big number. (If you didn't know there was a 'Sr', you are confessing you are a serious NASCAR Johnny Come Lately.) Anyway, I really dug the black background and white text. Then Kelsey saw it.

It's not so much what she said....at first. I just saw the raised eyebrow and heard the "Hmmm." So I pestered her for a reveiw and she finally said "It looks closed. Like, private. It's not open at all...". She was right...it made my blog look like some super secret spy stuff. Therefore, in the interests of glasnost, I changed it again. Frankly, I'd move the whole mess over to our website except that so many people are zeroed in on this URL.

In tech news, a few days ago, my mom ordered a new iBook. Well, new to her. It was a high end refurbished 14 inch. Imagine my shock today when Jackson told me "There's an iBook replacement out today....". I checked the website and there it was.

It has a wide screen, a ton of great features, a 60 gig HD and vastly improved keyboard (as Jackson says, "You can't get jelly under the keys..."). And it was only fifty bucks more....

One quick call to 1.800.I'mfreakingout.apple and they issued a return number and will pay the shipping (it hadn't even arrived yet.) Tonight Jackson and I made the pilgrimage and bought her the MacBook. It is a sweet little machine. Jackson said something to the effect of "I have an amazing Grandma. She iChats. She's got a Macbook. She's got a Razr." Amazing indeed.

If you felt so inclined, you could get your blog URL to be www.randyandkelsey.com/stuffithink, and Kelsey's could be /stuffithink2, or /kelsey, or whatever. No reason why you should feel so inclined, but sometimes it's good to do things just because you can..... like loading windoze on Grandma's new Macbook ;-)

re: Windoze on Grandma's new Macbook. Yes, and one could also abruptly hit one's self on the forehead with a hammer, but I wouldn't advise that either.

I have to say that I liked your old blog style better because it had bigger type and was nice and in my face, so you guys felt nearer. The bold type in this new thing is a big ol' gray that is oh-so-easy to miss... but I will continue to read you because we love you guys!

Brent, if you hold down the APPLE key, the + key AND the shift all at once, it makes you a latte. And APPLE, shift, control, .gov gets you into the White House secret files. They don't like when people know that, so don't tell anyone.

Yea, and if you hold the apple key while eating a bananna, somewhere a chimpanzee goes freakin' nuts.
