1,400-Pound Meteorite Found in Kansas - Yahoo! News

Click here for the full story: "It was in the same area that in 1949 produced a 1,000-pound meteorite now on display at the Celestial Museum in Greensburg, part of the World's Largest Hand Dug Well that is the community's biggest claim to fame."

----

It will no doubt be displayed between the World's Largest Ball of Twine and the Hearing Aids Through The Centuries display.

Randy... you don't know me but I'm married to Caleb Powell and we're both on staff here at IHOP. He and Alisha (Caleb's sister) actually GREW UP in Greensburg, Kansas... so Caleb was pretty disappointed when he found out about that meteorite...

check out our blog for the full story on his disappointment...

http://jennypowell.blogspot.com/ and follow the link on mine to Alisha's page to hear her take on it...

I think I somehow gave the impression in my post that I was offended by the thought of someone making fun of my hometown. Quite the contrary. As I've been saying for sometime now, it is the epitome of Kansas Tourism:

"Come see a hole in the ground - only ten bucks!! And while you're at it, throw some money into it. The large rock inside might interest you as well; it came all the way from outer space!"

Wow!
