stuff i think

back to DC....

Kelsey, the boys and I drove from East TN to Washington, DC today, tracking the disaster in the Gulf via radio updates. Unbelievable. My heart goes out to the thousands in the dome and their exodus to Houston. What a nightmare.

We got back about 8 pm to find the place deserted. The entire internship and staff went to Charlotte, NC for a conference...except for Adam and Taryn who are here getting ready for their Sept 10 wedding, and Taryn's parents who flew in from South African. Her mother is busy cooking while her stepdad awaits orders to find out what else he's supposed to spray paint gold.

I tried to go to bed two hours ago but am too wound up from the drive and the Hurricane events. Got out of bed to spend some time in John 1 while Lifehouse plays in the background.
