Greetings friends, family and lurkers....

We're still in Kansas City - plan on leaving tomorrow evening...eleven of us in a van headed for Washington, DC to reconnect with our crew there. Jackson, of course, will hang in KC for a few more days before jetting to Colorado with Lenny LaGuardia to do a kids camp. He'll return to KC a week later and then continue on with Lenny to a camp in Mississippi, where Grayson and I will join him. Pretty weird when your 12 year old is racking up frequent flyer miles faster than you are....

Our time here has been rich. Last Sunday, Mike Bickle preached an amazing message on meekness that I found horribly practical all week. Not saying I past the tests, but at least I'm recognizing them for what they are. I am rediscovering what an influence the House of Prayer here in KC has had on me. Perhaps more than ever, I felt at one with them here. While all the bouncing around and moving has been difficult, it remains true that everywere God has put us, He's put us among great people. In this setting, it was great people and a life mission that Kelsey and I will carry forever.

In a moment of temporary insanity, we decided to paint the house. The enterior of our home here in KC is very Pottery Barnish inside - gorgeous hardwood floors, a fireplace, dusky greens and tans. The exterior, however, looked very Early American Retiree. No pink flamingos, but it did have an odd yellow color with burgandy shutters that caused us to shudder in our own right. Leaning on the skills and (relative inability to protest) of a few interns, we painted it dark khaki (actually, a sort member of the brown family that went to college) with black shutters. We knew we were on the right track when the next door neighbors stopped their car and cheered.....
