stuff i think

For the last month or so, I've been consuming the book of Proverbs, verse by verse. At times it's been painfully slow...painful in that the verses cut with surgical precision.

In reading these thoughts on wisdom and how to manage one's life, I've come to the conclusion that we will always face one of two challenges in life...a challenge to our abilities or a challenge to our character. The Lord will either throw things in your way that you are unable to do in order to force you to rely on Him, or He'll allow you to succeed in order to see what you're really made of. The latter - a test draped in the trappings of our own successes - seems far the more challenging of the two.

My prayer for you today is prudence, discretion and grace. I ask for the same for our family.
