OKLAHOMA CITY An Oklahoma church canceled a controversial gun giveaway for teenagers at a weekend youth conference. Windsor Hills Baptist had planned to give away a semiautomatic assault rifle until one of the event's organizers was unable to attend. The church’s youth pastor, Bob Ross, said it’s a way of trying to encourage young people to attend the event. The church expected hundreds of teenagers from as far away as Canada.EDITORIAL: This reminds me of those Toys-for-Guns programs in the inner city, except now I know what they do with the guns. They haul them out to the suburbs and give them away in youth group.
Friday evening, Ross said the gun giveaway had been canceled. Pastor emeritus Jim Vineyard, who ran the event, injured his foot and wouldn’t be able to attend.
I love the line about the pastor injuring himself....my guess is the idea misfired and he shot himself in the foot.

Speechless, or not so speechless.
I choose to remain speechless I guess.
Oh, Like the new blog look by the way. It may have been that way a while, but with google reader, you know, don't always click in.
Even worse, it's Bob Ross who's the pastor there! What ever happened to painting...?
