a quick summary

Having been an abysmal blogger in the last few weeks, I shall attempt to bring you up to speed on my comings and goings in each of several facets of my life.

TheCall
This weekend, we gather in Alabama. This will be the final gathering I coordinate directly, as I hand the baton, the credit card and the pressure to Dwayne Roberts, who has done a lot of my stunts in the past. I am referring to this one as my Farewell Tour* and demand that my staff join me at the end to stretch across the stage hand in hand and take a bow. (*I'm still working with TheCall leadership team, so I'm not really saying farewell, I'm just milking this for all it's worth).

The Grand Magazine Experiment.
As I may have mentioned before, I've been asked to generate and coordinate content for a yet unnamed magazine centering on the prayer movement. Without going into details, allow me to say a meeting with writers is a little like herding cats without the benefits of the stock prod. Granted, it was kind of fun....but a stock prod, man, that would have put it over the top.

Luke18Project
I've taken up my role as Chief Blogologist in earnest and am loving it. I'm also coordinating the Summer Collegiate Training Intensive here in KC.

JHOP.DC
We'll be going in and out of DC this summer to help fuel JHOP and coordinate efforts of a prayer meeting in front of the Supreme Court as we did in 2005. We've rented a home in Rockville, MD where we'll live in community with young people. For long time readers, please understand it is not Camp Bennett.

Kids
Spring fever hit this afternoon and I spent some time tossing a football with Grayson as chicken grilled on the deck. Zoe's new word is the last word you said. She repeats a lot. So be careful. Zion rocked the house last weekend at the Macon House of Prayer. Jackson's up late tonight making cookies. I love this crew.

Wife
Kelsey and I had a date this morning. When you're 40, hot dates sometimes include pancakes. We went to Firstwatch after dropping the boys off at school - it was a nice little break, but turkey sausage is not the replacement that it hopes to be. Tonight we had a tax date. I know. It's crazy.

Oh, I am SO glad you won't be revisiting Camp Bennett! Keep us posted about the schedule this summer. Maybe I can bring a crew up for a long weekend or something....

not the first time someone has desired a cattle prod to "heard" me in during a meeting! ;) I'm a tough cat.
