How I Spent My 40th Birthday...

As many of you surmised, I turned 40 today. Early this evening, to be technical, although after four decades, who would quibble about a few hours? Here's how I spent the big day...

6am - The prayer room. It's good to be back after a long trip.

8am - home to cover the boys while Kelsey leads the prayer set.

10am - race to the office to touch base with the peeps. Strategize with Paul Amabile, fiddle with Brandon Fancher's fancy schmancy Nokia, and find a gargantuan chocolate chip cookie with green icing has been placed on my desk by Sarah Spunky Kim. Stop by IHOP to pick up a birthday gift from a friend before...

11am - FSM leadership meeting. Feign intense interest in topics whilst simultaneously feigning disinterest in the two boxes of Lamar's Donuts on the table. Carry on a side conversation with Allen Hood about how turning 40 at IHOP gives one an almost Yoda like status.

1pm - Bolt from FSM meeting to TheCall office for a conference call with our peeps in Las Vegas about an upcoming preCall rally that will be broadcast on TV.

1:30pm - Join Lou Engle at Dunn Bros. to talk TheCall, past, present and future.

3:15pm - Drop Lou off at IHOP, rush back to office to read and sign contracts and eat more of the big cookie.

4:30pm - Race home so Kelsey can go to the school. Between 4:30pm and 6pm I load boys in the truck, leave Zoe with Grandma, check with my friend Joe to see if something fits in his car, pick the boys up some McDonalds, and get to the school

6pm - Teacher Orientation for The Daniel Academy starts.

10:30pm - leave the school to put kids to bed.

Whole day felt strangly like I was just 39.

man, who would say you already turned round the "big 4" corner? ;) you do more in a day than I do in a week! Then again, I do live in the mediterranean, and the "maƱana" factor is always something to contend with. Oh, wretched man that I am ....who shall deliver me.......

Now that you mention it, you do look a bit like Yoda. Oh the wisdom.
