Winter has hit....

I'm sitting in the Gun Club house of meeting this morning, waiting for the crew. I'm here early because I knew if I did not get some coffee into my sysem quickly, I would surely fail and perhaps even cease to be entirely.

Today will test the mettle of the Gun Club, as we were hit with an ice storm last night. For quite a while it was 'raining' ice - sort of a mini hail. This morning, our driveway was one solid sheet. I stepped off the sidewalk onto the driveway and slid to the bottom. We shall see who braves the forces of nature this morning and who are merely Boy Coffee Drinker Wannabees. Report to follow...

John just headed to the prayer room with his rack and electric guitar down the front lawn. It was a bit more crunchy than the driveway!
But we Pennyslvania folk aren't afraid of bad roads! 4WD on the little car helps too!

Just as a contrast...today is the first day of summer here in New Zealand. I got up at 5:30 for a walk with the dog. The sun just coming up and the birds singing loud...beautiful weather; no wind, few clouds, water lapping on the shores of the beach. Across the road the New Zealand Open golf tournament is playing in our neighbourhood this weekend, so they were setting up for that and closing off roads, but they still let old ladies and small dogs through. My point of meditation was on the beautitude, blessed are they who mourn for they shall be comforted.

It's a great start to the day.

Oooo. I hope they all made it safely, especially since some of them are my friends!

Too bad you aren't in ATL to enjoy our 70 degree weather! ;)

I would wade through shark infested waters for a cup of coffee and a gun. Fortunately I only had to ask Alaska1 for a ride.

Randy,

When the big snow hits would you be so kind as to post a few snap shots on your site. We out here in the Emerald Isle would like to see what a KC snow storm really looks like. We in the Emerald Isle were the first to be hit by the storms that are now hitting you. We had up to 19" of snow and record breaking precip this month. That kind of weather is tough on us native Northwesterners! Mostly the residents of the Emerald Isle like to sit around, drink good coffee, read books, complain about Mr Gates, look at photos of the Space Needle adorned with Xmas lights, complain some more, ride commuter ferry's around Puget Sound, wonder when the Sonics are leaving for Oklahoma and dodge flying fish at the Pike Place Market.

I see one of my "Peeps" has made it onto your honor roll! My wife and I were so glad when his covered wagon arrived in IHOPville. He is a wonderful man when the meds are kicking in (just kidding). When you see Bootleg next tell him Reverend Bob says howdy.

Everyones Favorite Guy,

The Most Reverend Bob
