Beg, Borrow, or Steal $10. Well, don't steal...

But do whatever you can to wrangle the ten bucks a month for the IHOP prayer room webcast. Without pointing any fingers, there is a member of our family who is up several times a night for a bottle, a diaper, or whatever. The last few nights, we've just left the audio webcast rolling. (Video is also available for the same price but the audio is prone to fewer glitches).

At the time of this writing, we've had seven hours and thirty eight minutes of prayer going on in our home continiously. I've been up a couple of times tonight and it's been great to walk out into the living room to hear the Night Watch crew worshiping and crying out to God.

The webstream doesn't replace any personal prayer time, but it sure preps your heart for the moments that you can get. If you're like me, you need it.

Since moving to the east coast this webcast has served as a virtual backup power supply for me. It is not the same as being there but it does an awful lot... I have this stuff going in the car too. The downside to that is that more conventional worship music gets stale even faster than it ever did before!

It's great to have on while you work too. It changes the spiritual atmosphere and inspires more creativity!

Amen! We subscribed to the webstream when Abigail was born, and it has been such an incredible blessing - especially now that it's much harder to get into the prayer room. (Active toddlers and quite devo sets don't mix well!)

Here's testimony from another Prayer Room webcast aficionado:

When out of work for 8 weeks because of a herniated disc, the Prayer Room was my constant companion during the day and the very long nights. What a blessing and encouragement!

As a parent of IHOPPER children, the web cast has helped me to feel connected to their lives long distance esp. since my daughter is a dancer and I get to "see" her without being in the same geographical spot. I also get to "see" my son-in-law in the congregation on Sunday a.m. occasionally. This has been a huge blessing to me!

The spiritual aspect of it all has enriched my life and brought me to a new level of worship, prayer and desire for intimacy with God.

I've often thought that however long ago God spoke the idea of a webcast to someone, He did it so that it would be there when I needed it. He also did it for people up during the night with their precious children. The reasons go on and on.

God is so good!

I live 3 blocks from IHOP... and can get there so rarely these days due to my health. The webcast is definitely not the same as being there - but is absolutely priceless.

I like to antiphonalize with the other singers... they never pick up the choruses I sing though. :)

I go off and on about subscribing or not. It seems odd to pay $10 a month to get my job at home. Yet it seems odd not to.

No joke. It's the way we Nebraskans can have the atmosphere of heaven in our homes too! Much thanks to the IHOP staff for providing this ministry to us outsiders.

Oh yeah!

We have a prayer room set aside 24/7 at the side of a garage for anyone who wants to be there, so I take my portable modem with my PC (I know I should repent for not having a Mac) and set the URL to IHOP and it's as if I'm there in KC!! It brings the distance from 10,000 miles to nil. Then I take it to work and plug in and listen all day. Great stuff!

Bless that person that thought of broadcasting to the world!

we have been online continually with the webcast since it started...the side effects are:
-we don't watch ANY tv (who can turn off the webcast)
-we don't listen to any other worship (makes it hard to go to church though)
-we don't miss our kids as badly (one is a dancer- so we love to watch her and her friends)
-we force everyone who comes over to watch and/or listen! (cuts down on useless small talk and opens the door to talk about endtimes or Jesus or 7 longings of the human heart!)
-we feel like we are part of the fam!
we LOVE it! Thanks Ihop for thinking of this!!!

I too love the webcast. When I'm not at ZHOP I usually have it constantly running on my laptop.

Those of us at Sanctuary HOP in Canada love it too. It is an excellent resource for hearing new songs and getting ideas to press into in our our prayer room. And, as everyone seems to agree, the atmosphere comes through even from a distance...

Hey man, thanks for this blog. I read it and told Taryn we should think about getting it. We had talked about it in the past. Then it dawned on her when she can't get to the prayer room (which should be up and running again soon thank the Lord) she can have it on at home and in the nursery. As soon as I read it we subscribed and it has been goin ever since.

I'm wondering how many people have subscribed to the webcast just because of your blog today.....I know I did!! =)

I Love the webcast, and I hate it. I want to listen to it but am frustrated by the constant streaming in and out jerkiness of it. Also, it gets stuck on a set and is not live. If I refresh it, hoping to stop the stutttering of the streaming, it repeats from the beginning. I don't get it. I want to have it available at any moment but it is not working for me. Do I need a tutor?

Sandie....I know one D.K. Sheldon who also has...er, issues, with the webstream. My suggestion - go straight to the audio stream. While the video stutters for me once in a while, the audio streams eight or ten hours straight for me without hesitation. And who really watches the little picture anyway?

Be of good cheer - better equipment really is coming, including multiple cameras!
