a sad commentary on what we care about...

Yesterday morning, I went to the gym before the big Gun Club meeting. While on the treadmill, I am faced with four TV screens regurgitating the news cycle. I was listening to the iPod, but all four screens are closed captioned.

I was stunned as all four networks dedicated at least as much time or more to Oprah's dissapointment with James Frey than the Hamas taking leadership of Palestine.

The networks featured living rooms full of kleenex-clutching women nationwide, crying with Oprah and cheering her on as she expressed her indignation as loudly as she'd crowed her support for him a few days earlier.

Meanwhile, a group dedicated to wiping Israel from the map takes the lead role in running Israel's next door neighbor.(1) Does truth matter? Big time. Does Oprah matter? Not in light of the Hamas.
