I'm using FireFox on a Mac, but I don't have it in the dock. I've just got the icon on the desktop. Haven't had any problems there. Hope you get it worked out.
I've given up on Firefox for precisely that reason - plus I've got into Safari on Tiger - I like that a lot. I don't lose the icon from the dock, it just stops working - if I go back to the dmg, launch it and drag a fresh icon into the dock and then use that it works for a bit and then stops. Give it up Ranbo, and go on Safari, it's less hassle!
