Arlen Spector has apparently inheirited Tom Daschle's mantle as Pain-in-Chief.

CNN.com - Specter urges caution for Bush - Nov 4, 2004: "PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (AP) -- The Republican expected to chair the Senate Judiciary Committee next year bluntly warned newly re-elected President Bush on Wednesday against putting forth Supreme Court nominees who would seek to overturn abortion rights or are otherwise too conservative to win confirmation. Sen. Arlen Specter, fresh from winning a fifth term in Pennsylvania, also said the current Supreme Court now lacks legal 'giants' on the bench."

Not mentioned was the fact that the Senate is not exactly overpopulated with Goliaths either. I'm trying to figure out who Specter owes. My guess is that for a Republican to keep in office from a state that was so pro-democrat, he has to make certain concessions. Watch this one, folks. It's fishy.
