As I mentioned a few days ago, I've been reading Charles Spurgeon's "Being God's Friend." It's a little 180 page booklet that has challenged my thought processes about what it means to befriend Divinity.

In Chapter Five, Spurgeon talks about the obedience that goes hand in hand with friendship with Jesus. He says "The friendliest act a person can do towards Christ is to obey Him."

Spurgeon goes on to talk about our tendency to give Christ everything we think He might want - except our will. He includes this zinger: "To bring our wealth and not yield our hearts is to bring the box and steal the jewel."

Let me encourage you to give Him what He asks for today. Yourself.
