stuff i think

Spent some time on the phone tonight with long lost friends Ed and Sharon Crawford. They are currently directing Highlands Child Placement Services in Kansas City, MO.

Many moons ago, Ed was directing the Eckert Youth Home in Williston, North Dakota. Back in '89, Ed took a wild chance and hired Kelsey and I as houseparents. I was 22, Kelsey was 19, and we instantly had 8 teenage foster sons. I believe Ed's board of directors thought he had lost his mind...and given that Kelsey couldn't cook and I couldn't manage a wheelbarrow, they probably had a point. Ed and Sharon were very patient with us...they taught us a lot and were great to work for. We hope to connect with them next week when we're visiting IHOP. It's always fun to connect with old friends. oops. Classic Friends.
